RCPE Online Symposium: Top Tips for the On-Call Medic
Friday 21 January 2022
Our 2022 annual Medical Trainee Conference, organised by the Trainees & Members' Committee of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, aims to provide an interactive diverse programme, covering important topics relevant to the on-call medic. It will be delivered entirely online. Our programme aims to cover challenging topics as well as highlighting new developments in medicine. We will start the day with a morning covering acute presentations including endocrine emergencies, acute flares of inflammatory bowel disease and the role of mechanical thrombectomy for acute stroke. In the afternoon, we discuss specialty conundrums that present to the medical receiving unit including assessment and treatment of acute kidney injury and recognition of rashes and dermatological emergencies at the front door.
Abstracts are now being invited for 2 major prizes at this event:
The 48th Sir John Halliday Croom Medal will be delivered virtually by the successful candidate at the symposium and is open to a Collegiate Member of any of the 3 (UK) Colleges which includes The Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, The Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Glasgow & The Royal College of Physicians of London
The Clinical Lesson Session Prize is an opportunity to deliver a lesson in General Internal Medicine and is open to Collegiate Members, Associates, Foundation Doctors & Medical Students of any of the 3 Royal Colleges (listed above) in the UK. If not selected to present orally, abstracts may be selected for our virtual poster presentation which also carries a prize for best poster.
The deadline for both of the above prizes is 9am, Wednesday 1 December 2021.
